Hayaat Women Trust

Hayaat Women Trust is an organization somali led located in the UK. Their mission is to create an impartial and safe environment where women can flourish through being able to express themselves freely and voice their concerns. They work to promote social inclusion for the public benefit by working with African women residing in Wales who are socially excluded on the ground of their ethnic origin or gender, to relieve their needs and to assist them to integrate into society.

The organization does so by providing health and well-being information, advice, education and training to support and enable the women to increase access to quality health and clinical services. Also by raising their awareness of the existing health providers’ services, empower and promote their health rights. Among health care providers specifically to raise awareness and educate on FGM.

Hayaat Women Trust is a registered charity that is managed by a board of trustees acting as management committee. Their trustees work voluntarily to make sure they’re doing all they can to reach and empower disadvantaged people in the community in Wales and Sub-Saharan African countries.

Last year, Hayaat Women Trust completed its specialist advice and advocacy project targeted at adult African men and women. The service provided advocacy support and addressed the complexity of participants’ identities, multiple support needs and experiences of social exclusion In particular the project was aimed at people from the African Diaspora who were asylum seekers, refuges, migrants, family reunion members, homeless, ex-offenders, those facing drug or alcohol problems.
