Somali Awareness and Social Development Organization (SASDO)
SASDO is a humanitarian organization whose main activities is livelihood development for the Somali community to tackle all living challenges on the ground. Its mission is to access and assist the Somali community as a whole, provide relief and development assistance, create jobs for Somali youth, empower women, protect children from harm and abuse.
SASDO looks for the place and time where there is a need and with the help of donors and organized civil society they try to meet the needs of the Somali community. Through different strategies such as information exchange, fundraising, implementation of activities, they manage to adapt the strategy to the risks of the needs that arise in collaboration with other organizations.These NGO activities can be sustained forever because 50% of the organization’s staff are volunteers and are highly trusted by the community.
Its main objectives are the formation and awareness of the community to achieve a change in society. To this end, they fight to alleviate hunger and disease, train farmers, promote community sanitation, raise awareness among young Somalis of the importance of peace and security, raise awareness of human rights and the protection of women and children, try to eradicate illiteracy and improve all living conditions.
Is an organization with a lot of strength in the implementation of activities, a lot of knowledge and specialists on different topics, trying to focus on vulnerable groups such as women and children. SASDO have many access techniques to achieve Somali community life improvement objectives because their staff knows how to access the war and drought affected community. The organization knows how to work with all stakeholders including professionals, stakeholders, local leaders and other communities in the target area.
