Israac Women Business Organization
Israac Women Business Organization (IWBO) is a non-profit organization committed to promote better living standards for Hiiraan women in the Hiiraan Region. It is based in the capital of the Hiiraan region, Beledweyne (Somalia).
To achieve this goal, the entity priorities are, first, to help and guide to undertake small-scale enterprises or home-based businesses. Also to reduce poverty among women-led families and to develop basic knowledge on business and management skills of Hiiraan women business groups. Another priority is to encourage Hiiraan women participation in development programs in the region and in the country. Ultimately, to create strong coordination, networking and linkages between Israac women business groups and other business organizations Inside Somalia abroad.
IWBO is dedicated to the protection of human rights with a focus on vulnerable groups. This protection is achieved by enhancing the capacity of women in different fields such as business, lobbying relevant authorities and advocating with stakeholders for change. Through the promotion of the women’s reconciliation and peacebuilding process, free legal aid services can be provided in the region in collaboration with stakeholders to end impunity in Somalia.
Access to justice is one of the core values of Rule of Law. ISRAAC aims at achieving this through providing legal aid to vulnerable groups/women. Legal aid contributes to a fairer, human and efficient legal system, which ISRAAC desires to achieve in Somalia.
